Font Notes:
Wilson (1870) notes an "ancient Norman building […] one of the four chapels of ease that once belonged to Eglingham" that underwent expansion in the Decorated period and a main restoration in the 19th century" The font, noted in Wilson (ibid.) as new, is shown in the interior plan at the west end of the nave, across from the south entrance. It is probably from the restoration of 1866. It is tub-shaped, raised on a thick round plinth, a Victorian take on the old Norman font desgin.
