Font Notes:
Wilson (1870) describes the church as "a relic of fourteenth-century workmanship […] much larger than we now see it […] The south aisle of the chancel is used as a baptistery. A slim-stemmed font stands nearly in the centre of it." Whellan (1885) notes: "Widdrington was formerly included in the parish of Woodhorn, but, in 1768, it was admitted to the enjoyment of separate and distinct parochial privileges". [NB: Pevsner (1957) dates the north arcade to the 12th century, but we have no information on the font of the original church]
