Wilson (1870) reports a font at the west end of the nave, but gives no other information on it. Of the church itself Wilson (ibid.) notes that the old edifice, reported at the time of Charles II [1660-1685] as being in a precarious condition, "has been rebuilt, with the exception of the chancel arch, which is ancient". The National Gazetteer of 1868 notes: "The chapel is a stone edifice, and was rebuilt in 1793", but does not mention a font.
