The June 1850 issue of The Gentleman's Magazine (vol. 188: 654) notes the consecration of a new church in Monkton Wyld om 14 March of the same year by the Bishop of Salisbury, and mentions a new baptismal font of Caen stone. [NB: there may have been a medieval chapel here, but we have no information of it or a font in it].
