Noted in García Gómez (2007) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period decorated with a ribbed pattern below a row of round arch-heads; on a moulded lower base. Valle Barreda (2009) mentions a similarity with the fonts at Aguilera, Losana (Soria) and Hontoria del Pinar (Burgos). Listed and illustrated in the Enciclopedia del románico [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/soria_TARANCUEÑA.pdf] [accessed 25 August 2025] as a 13th-century font originally perhaps of the nearby Gothic chapel, or the former parish church of the abandoned hamlet of Valverde, also nearby: "pila bautismal de copa cilíndrica de 91 cm de diámetro y 50 cm de altura, decorada con un bocel en la embocadura y en el frente con gallones rematados en semibezantes y toscos arquillos. Se alza sobre un tenante cilíndrico de 28 cm de altura. Su cronología nos parece tardía, probablemente ya dentro del siglo XIII, por lo que quizá proceda de la capilla gótica antes citada, o bien de la antigua iglesia del despoblado de Valverde, sito en el fondo del valle, al inicio del camino que conduce a Rejuelas."
