The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SE6849722965] notes: "Parish church. 1842 by W Hurst and W B Moffatt of Doncaster, with chancel and vestry of 1910. [...] C19 octagonal font with quatrefoiled and traceried panels."
***The notes below may refer to the Rawcliffe near York. The Domesday survey mentions three Rawcliffes in its entry for Rawcliffe (Hall), in the Hundred of Amounderness: "Rodeclif. alia Rodeclif. tria Rodeclif", and reports three churches there*** [NB: there are two entries for another (?) Rawcliffe [variant spellings] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SE5855/rawcliffe/] [accessed 22 November 2018], neither of which mentions cleric or church in it. ] Lawton (1842) quotes Torre's MS, p. 1392, on the authorisation by John, abbot of Selby, in the reign of Edward III or Richard II, for the building of a new chapel with a baptismal font in Rawcliffe. [NB: a recent -28/4/2009- communication from Ken Greaves [http://www.goole-on-the-web.org.uk/main.php?key=687] [accessed 30 November 2009] states: "i have a font from rawcliffe hall believed to be from the 1700 it was removed from the now cleared ruins of a church? We were told built in the 1700 the font may be older at the moment it is being used as a planter in the garden" -- It is not known what the origin of the Rawcliffe Hall font is]
