Noted and illustrated in the church website [http://www.gjellerupkirke.dk/] [accessed 23 November 2009]: "Døbefonten er et helt kapitel for sig, idet den tilhører en serie af de meget fornemme løvefonte, som findes i en linie herfra mod Horsens. Mest kendt af disse er døbefonten i Nr. Snede. På døbefonten ses 4 løvekroppe, som samles i to menneske-hoveder. Fontens udsmykning er keltisk inspireret. I løvemankerne ses det vikingemotiv, der er vartegn for det forhistoriske museum på Moesgård ved Århus."
