Noted in Cox (1912) simply as an octagonal font. The octagonal granite basin has crenellated pattern around the upper rim and a moulding at the lower side, as well as a moulded underbowl chamfer; the plain octagonal stem in black stone gives the font a Victorian flavour, which, together with the sharpnes of the basin, makes a case for either a 19th-century replacement font, or a restoration of an earlier font. The octagonal 'crown-like' wooden cover is probably 19th-century. [NB: the parish church dates back to the late 15th century; the House dates to the early 17th century originally, but much expanded and restored in the 19th century].
