Freckenham

Noted in Parker (1855): "Font, a plain octagon". The British Listed Buildings entry for this church [www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101037614-church-of-st-andrew-freckenham#.WfeoHDBrySM] [accessed 30 October 2017] reports: "Octagonal limestone font of late C14 or C15". Although not mentioned in Simon Knott's entry for this church in his Suffolk Churches, the page includes a photograph of the font and cover: a plain octagonal basin with a chamfered underbowl, on a moulded octagonal pedestal base, an octagonal-to-square lower base and a small square plinth. The painted wooden consists of a flat octagonal base with four scroll ribs around a pivot, and appears modern, perhaps Victorian.
