Noted in Parker (1855) as a Perpendicular font. Described in the Bansfield Benefice web site http://www.bansfieldbenefice.org.uk/cowlinge/history/interior.html] [accessed 3 November 2009]: "The font dates from about 1400. It stands at the west end, near the entrance […] Its octagonal bowl has quatrefoils […] designs) with a flower at the centre of each. More flowers appear on the underside of the bowl, and the stem has two-light traceried panels above quatrefoils." Illustrated in context in Knott (2007?)
