Baptismal font of the Decorated period described in Parker (1855) as an octagonal basin raised on eight pillars. Illustrated in Knott (2008). The sides of the basin are plain; there are eight round outer colonnettes and a central polygonal shaft; the lower base is octagonal; the plinth is also polygonal and has a two-step kneeling extension. The wooden cover is octagonal and flat, with metal decorations and ring handle; appears modern. [NB: there is no font at the ruins of Stanton St. John, and we have no information on its original font].
