Noted in Parker (1855): "bowl of font, octagon, with plain panels; pedestal, modern". The old basin, decorated with pairs of pointed windows on the sides, is now raised on a new base consisting of a central shaft and eight angle colonnettes, with moulded capitals and bases, and an octagonal lower base with an inscription on a brass plate all around. The octagonal plinth appears older. The oak cover is octagonal and crown-shaped, the upper part a low octagonal pyramid with a ball finial; siad to be of the 1930s.
