Country Name: England
Location: Suffolk, East Anglia

Century and Period: 14th - 15th century, Decorated? / Perpendicular?
Noted in Parker (1855): "Font, D[ecorated]; an octagon, with panelled bowl." Knott (1999?) notes that the font is heavily re-cut and that it was moved into the 'baptistery' during the Victorian reforms to the church. The octagonal basin is similar to the one at nearby Copdock [cf. Index entry], with angel demi-figures holding shields alternating with large floral motifs on the sides; the pedestal, however, is quite different, the one at Washbrook being of the East Anglian font type, with seated lions and buttresses around the pedestal.
