Parker (1855) reports a "modern and tasteless" font in this church. The present font is described in the English Heritage list entry for Little Wenham [http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1033410] [accessed 30 September 2011]: "Font, C14 much restored, simple octagonal stem with central drum and hexagonal angle columns, traces of red paint to original work". The large basin has plain vertical sides; there is a moulding at the underbowl; tha traces of paint are on the basin sides and on the outer colonnettes of the base; the broad central shaft is unpainted; the octagonal plinth is modern. [NB: we have no information on the whereabouts of the font of the 13th-century church].
