There is an entry for Fressingfield [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/TM2677/fressingfield/] [accessed 18 December 2022]; it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. Parker (1855) reports a plain octagonal font in this church. The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: TM2615577483] notes: "Parish church. Medieval; restored 1870 and 1888 [...] Early C14 square tower [...] C15 aisles [...] Fine south porch of c1420 with C19 restoration [...] Early C14 chancel, considerably restored in C19 [...] Plain octagonal font of medieval date." The font consists of three very differentiated volumes, all octagonal in shape: basin, pedestal base and lightly splaying lower base. The wooden cover is octagonal with metal decoration and ring handle atop, fitted onto the upper rim of the basin.
