Parker (1855) reports a "much mutilated" octagonal font of the Perpendicular period. Illustrated in Knott (2007) ****GET PHOTOS**** [http://www.suffolkchurches.co.uk/brome.html] [accessed 22 October 2009] . East Anglia type font, the basin deeply carved with demi-figure angels holding shields charged with emblems, alternating with [?]; angel heads and floral motifs on the underbowl chamfer; the pedestal base alternates seated lions with pinnacled balusters on moulded bases; tall wooden cover. [NB: the font as it appears in Kontt's 2007 illustrations shows sharp features probably the result of re-carving in the 19th century, after Parker's time]
