There are four entries for this Walesby [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/SK6870/walesby/] [accessed 6 March 2019] none of which mentions cleric or church in it. Cox (1912) reports a Norman tub font in this church. [cf. Index entry for nearby Haughton, with another (?) Norman tub font supposedly moved to Walesby in 1947]. No font mentioned in Pevsner & Williamson (1979). The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SK6850170754] notes: "Parish church. C12, C13, C14, C15, partly rebuilt early C16 by
Stanhope family, C17, 1886 and 1925. [...] Round tub font on round stem with water holding base, C14."
