Cox (1912) notes: "Old church pulled down in 1771, to find material for successor in village […] Present church (All Saints), cheaply built in pseudoclassical style […] Furniture of church as mean as fabric, save that ironwork supporting small marble basin, serving as font, is well wrought and of effective design. [NB: we have no information on the date of the latter, but it could be the original of the 18th-century building]. But much of the stone was reused in the new building […] The original bowl of the font from St Peter's is still being used in the present church."
