Noted in Cox (1912) as a new font. Described in the Southwell Churches website [http://southwellchurches.nottingham.ac.uk/plumtree/hhistory.php] [accessed 9 December 2009]: "The font (new) is of white Mansfield stone, its cover is of oak." [NB: the font is probably a replacement introduced in the 1870s' renovation of the church; the church tower, re-built in the early 20th-century, is said to be originally Norman built on Anglo-Saxon foundations, but we have no information on the earlier font(s) of this church]. No font mentioned for this church in Pevsner & Williamson (1979).
