Kelly's Directory of 1881 notes a font of serpentine marble erected in memory of the Hon. Mrs. Lumley. The church itself is dated in Pevsner & Williamson (1979) to "soon after 1780", a re-building of a medieval church here. The 18th century font is no longer in the church; its replacement is is a round font made of granite and dating probably from the late 19th century [NB: we have no information on either the 18th-century font or the medieval one of this church, formerly a chapel-of-ease for Edwinstone].
