Noted in Kelly's Directory of 1881 as a font of Caen stone, although this may be a later replacement font. Confirmed in Cox (1912), who mentions only a modern font in this church. [NB: a church and a priest in Norwell are reported in the Domesday survey of 1086, of which nothing remains; the present church goes back to to the mid-12th century, but we have no information on the earlier font of this church].
