Guilford (1927) mentions a 17th century font in this church, probably the same one referred to in Cox (1912) as "pedestal font". [NB: a font matching this description appears in a batch of slide photographs of the interior of this church was posted for sale on e-Bay [http://www.auctiva.com/hostedimages/showimage.aspx?gid=493177&image=288239248&images=288239239,288239258,288239275,288239318,288239308,288239265,288239297,288239292,288239283,288239326,288239248&formats=0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0&format=0] [accessed 6 Jamuary 2010]. The object consists of a small round basin with moulded rim and underbowl, raised on a plain cylindrical stem and moulded lower base -- the rest of the slides did not include the earlier font].
