Cox (1912) notes: "Font bowl Trans[itional] now in St. Catherine's church, Nottingham; standing on squared embattled base, I5th cent., said to come from Saxendale." Guilford (1927) notes that a font from this chapel was moved to Carlton, nr. Nottingham. The chapel itself, informs Guilford, was pulled down early in the 17trh century. [the identity of the Saxendale and South Wheatley fonts, both moved to churches near Nottingham, appears to be confused in some of the sources -- cf. Index entries for St. Catherine (Nottinghamshire) and Cossall (Nottinghamshire)]
