Described in Walkerdine & Buxton (1907): "The original font of bucket shape remains. It is devoid of carving, and stands on a new stem and step to the north of the west door." Noted in Cox (1912): "Plain font on new base is […] Norman." Described in Guilford (1927) as a bucket-shaped Norman font. The Parish Church web page [http://stpeterandstpaulwarsop.co.uk/index.php?main_page=page&id=8] [accessed 17 October 2009] notes: "The bucket shaped font, which stands north of the west door, also belongs to the Norman period. The marks of the irons that originally fastened on to the cover are still visible", and dates the church to the later half of the 12th century. Not mentioned in Pevsner & Williamson (1979).
