Cox (1912) lists Walkeringham as having one of about a score of Restoration fonts in the county and dated generally to 1663, but his description appears to indicate that this could be a composite font: "Small octagonal font on old base; 1663 and initials R.C., B.W." Guilford (1927) mentions a font of 1663. Noted in Pevsner & Williamson (1979) as dated to 1663, octagonal and undecorated.
