The local Church Guide (May 1980) [http://www.lhi.org.uk/docs/Guide_to_the_Parish_Church.pdf] [accessed 1 October 2009] notes: "Since 1920 the south west corner of the church has been used as the baptistery, instead of the former position, under the tower. The Norman bowl of the font is older than the church. It was previously used in the earlier church of St. James […] In about 1663 a new font was put into the church. This font was a replica of one in Southwell Minster […] This 1663 font was given to East Bridgford in 1863."
