Cox (1912) writes: "Octagonal font so small (2 ft. 9 in. high, and 1 ft. 1 and 1/4 in. in diameter) that it probably originally served as holy-water stoup; traces of cover on rim, but font covers were ordered in 17th cent." Reported in Bayley (1913): "The font is small, and I believe it to be of the time of Charles II." [i.e., 1660-]. Not mentioned in Pevsner & Williamson (1979). [NB: the fabric of the church goes back to Norman times, but we have no information on the earlier font(s)]
