Noted in Cox (1912) as a "new font and baptistery" of 1898. The Parish web site [http://stmarysarnold.org.uk/history.htm] [accessed 1 October 2009] reports and illustrates a replacement font installed in 1899; it has an octagonal basin with decorated sides and is raised on a central shaft and four outer marble collonettes; typically Victorian. [NB: we have no information on the earlier font of the medieval church]
