The Parish web site [http://www.wincanton-parish-church.co.uk/Church%20history.html] [accessed 1 October 2009] notes and illustrates a new baptismal font introduced in the 1887 re-building of this church. This font is octagonal all over, the basin sides decorated with cusped panels, one of them with HIS emblem; mouldings on the stem; low pyramidal contemporary cover. [NB: the original church dates to the early-14th century, but we have no information on its medieval font].
