The Parish web site [http://www.parishofcwmafan.com/church.htm] [accessed 28 September 2009] notes and illustrates two fonts: "At the entrance to the chancel is an old Norman font which is slightly damaged […] It was used in St. Michael's until 1850 when it was replaced by the present font." This font is a tub-shaped basin probably intended to be raised on a base; it is damaged on one side and appears to have been totally plain originally. The later font is octagonal all over with decorated panels on the basin, underbowl and pedestal base.
