Font Notes:
There is an entry for Lovington [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/ST5930/lovington/] [accessed 5 February 2018], but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. The National Monuments Record [Listing NGR: ST5967430836] reports a 19th-century font in this 13th-century church. The Victoria County History (Somerset, vol. 10, 2010) notes: "Robert of Cary, lord of Lovington, about 1189 gave the church, which is dedicated to St Thomas Becket and may have been founded by Robert, to Wells cathedral" [there is no mention of a font in the VCH entry]. The present font is probably from the 1861 renovation of the building [NB: we have no information on the earlier font(s) of this church]
