Kelly's Directory of 1883 reports "the font is modern and richly carved", thereby indicating that the original font from the 13th-century church was no longer there. Pevsner does not mention the font but notes the cover, "a recent addition, designed by W. H. Randall Blacking". [NB: we have no information on the font from the 12th or the 13th-century church(s) here].
