Font Notes:
A large granite pedestal stoup resembling an ancient baptismal font, located to the west of the south entrance; despite its appearance it is probably of the same date as the font, the mid-17th century; the basin block is irregular, not quite hemispherical nor cylindrical, but the upper side is clearly carved straight to fit flush with the wall at back, almost shell-shaped, with obvious baptismal connotations; a pattern of flat diagonal fluting covers the sides and upper rim; the pattern is continued, vertical now, on the squat quadrangular pedestal base. The inner well of the basin has the same shape as the exterior of the basin; there is no drain hole in it.
