Font Notes:
A stone hemispherical basin decorated with a broad flat moulding athe upper rim, and a pattern of ribs around the sides and underbowl; at present it is placed directly on the ground, without base, and appears to be used as holy-water stoup. Two details may suggest that this was the basin of an earlier font: 1 there is damage at opposite sides of the upper rim, indicating perhaps that staples from an earlier cover have been removed, and 2) the bottom of the basin appears to have a residue of cement or mortar that may cover a former drain hole. It is almost identical to the basin of the baptismal font at Plounevez-Lochrist [cf. Index entry for Plouguerbeau No. 1 for the later font in use]
