Baptismal font -or holy-water stoup that may have been used as a font- in the chapel of the Château de Kerjean, in the municipality of Saint-Vougay. It consists of an octagonal basin with rounded underbowl, a broad flat moulding all around the top, broad ribs on the sides, among which, at the front, is a shield with a coat of arms [Barbier family arms?]; raised on an moulded octagonal baluster-type pedestal base. One of the basin sides is badly damaged; also two metal staples perhaps used to reinfoce the cracked basin. The inner well has no drain. The basin, made of kersantite, has two large metal staples for the cover. The present position of the object suggests its use as holy-water stoup, but the staples of the cover indicate its original use as baptismal font.
