There is an entry for Newton [St Loe] [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/ST7064/newton-st-loe/] [accessed 20 August 2019] but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. The Parish site [http://www.holytrinitynsl.org.uk/Church.htm] [accessed 15 September 2009] notes: "the round stone font, with its 'stiff leaf’ decoration, is Early English in style and is a Victorian replacement of an older plain font." There is no mention of any font in the entry in Pevsner (1958). The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: ST7011264878] notes; "Parish Church. C14, altered in C15 (tower) and subsequently; restored with addition of north aisle in 1857 [...] Font is C19, in an early Gothic style: ashlar, circular bowl with stiff-leaf to underside, cylindrical stem."
