There is an entry for [Long] Ashton [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/ST5470/long-ashton/] [accessed 24 September 2020]; it reports "1 church. 0.25 church lands" in it. Pevsner (1958) notes the font here: "Perp[endicular], octagonal, with two blank ogee-headed panels to each side." The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: ST5534270956] notes: "Parish Church (Anglican). C14 and C15; restored with much of the east end rebuilt 1871-72 [...] Font, restored; ashlar octagonal with a blank arcade of 2 cusped ogee panels to each side; the top dates from 1950." The Parish Magazine [www.allsaintsla.org.uk/sites/default/files/magfiles/Parish Mag October 2019.pdf] [accessed 24 September 2020] notes: "To enter the Tower fromthe Church, you pass through a wooden screen that is part of our War Memorial, and (prior to theTower Project) screened the west Door. To the left is a medieval stoop for Holy Water, and to the right is the medieval Font with a modern cover by Ernst Blensdorf portraying a Dove Descending. Long Ashton villagers continue to be baptised in this Font after many centuries of use." [NB: we have no information on the font of the Domesday-time church here].
