Blomefield (1805-1810) writes: "W[reningham], As it is now, contains three whole parishes, and three manors, all joined in one, viz. Great Wreningham, or All Saints, Little Wreningham, or St. Mary, and Nelonde. Of the church of Great Wreningahm, aka, Wreningham Magna he notes: "The church is dedicated to all the Saints", with two 'medieties' between the Abbot of Cryk and the Prioress of Carrow held the other, the name of the first recorded rector being "Robert de Cokethorp", in 1306. Blomefield (ibid.) further notes that by the year 1418 the three parishes have a consolidated rectory under "Thomas Arteys of Refham, priest." Great Wreningham is surveyed in Domesday (fol. 175) as 'Vrnincham', with a church with ten acres of land [="i. ecclesia de x. acr."]. White's Directory of 1883 notes: "All Saints', in that part of the parish formerly called Great Wreningham, is a small fabric, comprising nave, chancel, north transept, south porch, and square tower with four bells. The old tower fell down in 1852, and was rebuilt the following year, when the church was restored, the transept added, and new open seats provided." The Church of England entry for this church All Saints [www.achurchnearyou.com/wreningham-all-saints/] [accessed 21 March 2013] reports "a 15th century octagonal font with a wooden cover" in it. [NB: the present font appears too sharp to be of the 15th century; it is either re-tooled or a Victorian vessel -- we do not have any information on the font rom the Domesday-time church here].
