Church Notes: ancient [12th-13thC?] church; repaired and enlarged 1844
There is an entry for Blaby [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SP5797/blaby/] [accessed 27 July 2015], but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. Baptismal font consisting of a roughly hemispherical basin decorated with with two parallel round mouldings; raised on a splaying pedestal base possibly of later date [or re-tooled?], and a round plinth. The wooden cover has a round base with an inscription ["Suffer little children to come unto me"], the eight arrises crocketed and a florid finial; modern.
