Blomefield (1805-1810) writes: "The Church is dedicated to St. Andrew, and built of flint, stones, &c.; the body is about 42 feet in length, and with the south isle annexed, is about 30 in breadth, both covered with lead [...] At the west end of the nave stands a four-square tower of flint, &c. with a wooden cap covered with lead; here are four bells". Blomefield (ibid.) names "Robert de Nevyle" as first recorded rector, but without a date, the next one being "Ralph de Nevyle, on the resignation of Robert", in 1302. The present font, illustrated in Knott (2007), consists of an octagonal basin with some decoration on the angles and the underbowl, raised on a columnar base and a double plinth: the upper step octagonal, the lower square. Probably from the mid-19th century renovation of the church. [NB: the church goes back at least to the 13th century, but we have no information on the earlier church here].
