Inscripción fragmentada en cúfico florido mandada colocar por Ghālib ibn ‘Abd al-Raḥmān, general de al-Ḥakam II (ha. 965)" with a Spanish translation of the text: "En el nombre de Dios, el Clemente, el Misericordioso. Scene Description: portal on the south wall, west side; date suggested in Arteguis [https://www.arteguias.com/ermita/sanmiguelgormaz.htm] [accessed 30 December 2018] in the 10thC: "situada en el extremo oeste del muro. Se trata de un valioso vano rematado por un arco de herradura muy cerrado con los salmeres redondeados y el dovelaje típico de lo califal del siglo X. Esta puerta estuvo cegada hasta la restauración acometida recientemente."

A small rectangular sunken piscina on the hill-side at the locality of Gormaz, south of Burgo de Osma [NB: not to be mistaken with San Esteban de Gormaz, west of Burgo de Osma, with a Visigothic (?) font]. Fernandez Galiano [http://www.astragalo.net/articulos/gormaz.htm] [accessed 3 August 2009] writes: "Pila bautismal: Un detalle arquitectónico de interés, que a mi modo de ver permite entender mejor el edificio, es la disposición de una pila bautismal excavada a los pies de la nave, en el eje mismo del templo, cuya existencia ha podido descubrirse gracias a la actuación arqueológica. Su disposición central subraya su importancia, si bien la interpretación sobre su posible uso ha hecho dudar a sus descubridores entre pila bautismal o depósito de agua para lavar los cadáveres. Creo que esta segunda lectura es algo forzada frente a los usos bautismales, mucho más comunes y mejor documentados como rito en la liturgia de la Iglesia prácticamente desde sus inicios; y aunque en la iglesia de San Miguel han podido documentarse usos de enterramiento, como en la mayoría de las iglesias cristianas de la época, no parece haber sido esta función funeraria su uso principal; en cualquier caso, las inhumaciones documentadas por la excavación son bastante posteriores a la construcción del pórtico que los alberga, éste a su vez posterior a la estructura original prerrománica."
