There is an entry for Godwick [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/TF9022/godwick/] [accessed 5 September 2015], but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. Chambers (1829) notes that there is and entry for this church in the Domesday Book, and also that by Blomefield's time "nothing remained of the church but its ancient steeple" [NB: the reference is to Francis Blomefield's history of Norfolk, the first volume of which was published in 1739 -- we assume that the original font of that church has disappeared].
