"fonte battesimale del 1473, opera della bottega dei fratelli Zabreri" [source: http://www.comune.rossana.cn.it/strutture.aspx?id=22 [accessed 8 July 2009]]. Baptismal font consisting of an octagonal basin with narrow sides and a tall underbowl chamfer; the sides bear and insacription with the beginning text of the Credo; an inscription also runs on the pronouncet centre ring and on the chamfer of the lower base; there are large leaves at the angles and scallops at the bottom of the underbowl chamfer. [NB: is the base a later replacement?] The wooden cover is of the rim-buffet type, and ill-suited to the font, as it is much wider than the upper rim of the font; there are Trees-of-Life (?) on the side panels, but the front panel, the one with the lock to access the baptismal water, has a scene of the baptism of Christ by John the Baptist.
