The Domesday entry for "Norrepes", transcribed and translated in Blomefield (1805-1810) reports "a church with 18 acres of land" in it, a description of which is given in this author: "North Repps Church is a rectory dedicated to St. Mary, and was always in the patronage of the Earls Warren and Surry. In the reign of Edward I.[i.e., 1272-1307] the rector is said to have edifices and 4 acres of land." Pevsner & Wilson (1997) note a 14th-century font restored: octagonal with panelled stem; quatrefoils on the basin sides. Illustrated in Knott (2006).. The upper basin side has three parallel mouldings, below which asre the large quatrefoils; pairs of trefoiled arches on the stem sides; plain splaying lower base. On an octagonal plinth with kneeling extension. The wooden cover is octagonal and flat, with metal decoration and ring handle; appears modern.
