Font Notes:
The entry for this church in Blomefield (1805-1810) mentions only the earlier font [cf. Index entry for Croxton No. 2]. Tyrrell-Green (1928) mentions a basin from an old font surviving in this church. Cautley (1949) proposes that the fonts at Ingworth and Croxton should be included in the group of 'Seven-sacrament fonts'. Noted in Pevsner & Wilson (1999): "big, octagonal, Perp[endicular], and may originally have had reliefs of the Seven Sacraments (Cautley)." The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: TL8736086617] notes: "Parish church. C12-C15. Restored 1856 [...] Early C15 font, probably of 7 sacraments but with carvings lost." Noted and illustrated in Knott (2008), who reports: "The panels here are completely effaced"; the underbowl still has the angel heads and there are tracery patterns on the octagonal stem [NB: the motifs at the angles are round-bowl shaped and decorated with mouldings and leaves -- are there any traces of angels on the sides of the chamfer?]. [cf. Index entry for Croxton All Saints No. 2 for a later font at this church]
