Blomefield (1805-1810) writes, including a translation from the Domesday entry for 'Barsham': "In the same village, (Barsham,) as we are informed from Doomesday book, Reiner held of the Earl Warren a lordship, which belonged to Toke in King Edward's reign, consisting of [...] a church endowed with 8 acres and an half of meadow. [...] The Church is dedicated to All-Saints, and was appropriated to the priory of Castleacre [...] On the north side of the church, at the west end, is the steeple, with one bell, dedicated to St. Thomas, the church is covered with lead. Here were formerly several bells, which being taken out of the church, and put on ship board, were lost (as is said) on Hunstanton sands. [...] This church in some writings is called the Holy Trinity of East Barsham". Blomefield (ibid.) names "Thomas de Holme" as first recorded rector here, in 1305. The present font is mentioned in Pevsner & Wilson (1997): "Font. Octagonal." Illustrated in Knott (2005). Octagonal basin with plain vertical sides, showing damage and repairs especially at the upper rim; raised on a broad central shaft and eight outer colonnettes forming trefoil arches; on an octagonal lower base. The wooden cover is modern: flat octagonal platform with four raised ribs converging on a round finial.
