The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 30 March 2021] notes: "iglesia dedicada a San Clemente, papa y mártir [...] El ábside es románico rectangular con canes historiados, con ventana en aspillera y dos fustes sencillos. La portada es románica, sencilla, con billeteros de cierre. Y la torre es en espadaña, románica, con tres huecos de arco apuntado y dos campanas. La pila tiene alguna decoración". Described and illustrated in the Enciclopedia del románico en Castilla y León (2002- ) as a baptismal font probably of the late 12th or early 13th century consisting of a hemispherical basin with a band of round arch-heads below the upper rim; raised on a plain cylindrical base; one metal staple from the old cover remains at the upper rim of the basin, but the one at the oppsite end is gone and there is damage where the metal split the stone [NB: later photographs show this repaired in light-coloured cement]. The work is crude and the decoration uneven, with some of the arches very irregular, miscalculated by the mason. The Enciclopedia… (ibid.) notes a similar font at nearby Lomana, even though the dimensions vary significantly. There is a holy-water stoup of stone, perhaps a composite object, located inside the church, on the east side of the side entrance; it consists of a roughly hemispherical basin mounted on a quadrangular pedestal base that could be 16th-century.
