The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 15 February 2021] notes: "Su iglesia, dedicada a San Miguel Arcán-gel, es renacentista [...] Tiene al lateral derecho otra portada románica [...] la torre es cuadrada, mudéjar, de ladrillo [...] del siglo XV [...] La pila bautismal es gótica, de grandes dimensiones, sin decoración." Described and illustrated in the Enciclopedia del románico en Castilla y León (2002- ) as a plain monolithic Romanesque font made of stone from Hontoria de la Cantera; the hemispheric basin is plain but for a moulding at the rim, and there is a moulding at the joint with the squat base that forms part of the same piece as the basin; there are anchoring spots from an earlier cover in the upper rim; the font stands on a circular plinth.
