The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 1 May 2021] notes: "Tiene su iglesia dedicada a Santa Eulalia, virgen y mártir, y es renacentista [...] La pila es románica con decoración". Described and illustrated in the Enciclopedia del románico en Castilla y León [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/burgos_PALAZAUELOS_DE_VILLADIEGO.pdf] [accessed 30 April 2021] as a baptismal font of the early decades of the 13th century, consisting of a hemispherical basin decorated with arch-heads and a ribbed pattern belowl raised on a plain cylindrical stem and a lower base with two volumes, the upper round, the lower square; this lower base is very damaged and eroded, but the Enciclopedia… (ibid.) identifies anthropomorphic heads in the stumps now left [="En el interior se conserva una pila bautismal compuesta por una basa de 36 cm de altura decorada con esquemáticas cabezas antropomorfas y una copa de 106 cm dediámetro ×53 de altura, con bocel en la embocadura y gallones en el resto. Desde el punto de vista tipológico se puede relacionar con los ejemplares de Sasamón, Padillade Arriba, Tablada de Villadiego y Hormicedo (hasta hace poco abandonada en una calle de Villanueva de Puerta), siendo también muy común este modelo en tierras sorianas (Valderromán, Hoz de Arriba, Peralejo de los Escuderos, etc.). La labra a trinchante de la pieza es síntoma de una cronología tardía que puede rondar las primeras décadas del siglo XIII."]
