Font Notes:
Described in Parker (1855): "Font, good D[ecorated]; an octagon, with trefoils under canopies". Noted in Cautley (1982) as a baptismal font of the 14th century; fonts of this type in the county at Buxhall, Chelsworth, Walsham-le-Willows, as well as the best fonts of the period at Hemingstone, Kessingland, Wortham, Wickham Market and Rattesden. The wooden font cover consists of an octagonal base decorated with six quatrefoil motifs on each side, the upper rim crenellated, on which an octagonal pyramid with crocketed arrises; large vegetal finial.
